Chania International Airport “Ioannis Daskalogiannis” is the sixth busiest airport in Greece. It took it’s name after a Cretan rebel against Ottoman rule in the 18th century.
It is a joint civil-military airport, about 14 kilometres away from the center of Chania, that handles about 2 million passengers a year.
Even though it’s a small airport, you can find parking spaces, a bank, a bureau of change, bars, a VIP lounge, duty free shops as well as gift shops.
